Coca-Cola Arena

Case Study

The challenge: The arena's exterior cladding system had to perform against several demanding conditions at once.

As a large, exposed façade on a major venue, it had to withstand significant wind pressure and load. Because the building is fully climate-controlled year-round in Dubai's extreme heat, it had to meet a defined U-value requirement, with the envelope's thermal performance directly affecting the energy needed to keep 17,000 occupants comfortable. And the scale of the venue meant the system had to accommodate considerable structural height across the façade.

The solution: An exterior cladding system built around Aquapanel Outdoor cement board and its associated accessories.

The system delivered resistance to wind load and water, together with the U-value performance required for a continuously air-conditioned arena — combining structural resilience with the thermal efficiency essential to year-round operation in the region's climate.

Sustainability Solution: The specified insulation achieved the target U-value performance, and the products complied with green-building regulations.
