Because the building is fully climate-controlled year-round in Dubai's extreme heat, it had to meet a defined U-value requirement, with the envelope's thermal performance directly affecting the energy needed to keep 17,000 occupants comfortable. And the scale of the venue meant the system had to accommodate considerable structural height across the façade.

The system delivered resistance to wind load and water, together with the U-value performance required for a continuously air-conditioned arena — combining structural resilience with the thermal efficiency essential to year-round operation in the region's climate.
