The challenge: The scale and nature of the park created exceptional structural and acoustic demands.
Internal walls reached up to 17 metres tall, requiring drywall systems engineered to perform at heights far beyond conventional construction. The themed zones demanded very high acoustic performance — up to 75 dB and above — to contain the sound of immersive attractions and prevent noise transfer between adjacent experiences. And as a high-footfall public environment welcoming tens of thousands of visitors daily, the walls needed robust impact resistance to withstand constant use.
The solution: A combination of Knauf U-Stud systems, Knauf V-Brace systems, the Knauf Mass Barrier system, and Knauf partitions and ceilings, all to ASTM standards.
The engineered systems delivered the exceptional structural heights the park required, the high acoustic performance needed to isolate sound between attractions, fire performance across a major public assembly building, and the impact-resistance performance essential to a demanding, high-traffic entertainment environment.
