It's built from mass (dense boards and multiple layers), isolation (independent framing and cavity mineral wool), and sealing. Even small unsealed gaps at partition perimeters, around services and at junctions let sound leak through and can undo an otherwise high-performing wall. This is why acoustic sealant at every perimeter and penetration is part of the system, not an optional extra. Specify the boards and the build-up together, and seal them properly, to achieve the rated performance.
