Engineered for elevated fire and acoustic performance, the Knauf KC002 is a heavy-duty suspended drywall ceiling system. Featuring a double layer of Knauf Gypsum Boards fixed to a highly stable, two-tier metal framework, it provides a seamless, monolithic finish while allowing for the extensive integration of overhead services and superior sound isolation.
It is used in commercial, institutional, and residential spaces where enhanced ceiling performance and durability are critical. The robust suspension framework consists of Knauf Furring Channels fixed perpendicularly beneath primary Knauf Main Channels. This entire grid is securely suspended from the structural soffit using rigid L-angle sections anchored with Knauf Wedge Anchors. The addition of a second layer of gypsum board significantly elevates the system's structural integrity, sound insulation, and fire rating, making it the ideal solution for concealing large mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services in deep plenums while meeting strict building codes.
