Built completely independent of the background structure, the Knauf KW625 freestanding wall lining system offers ultimate flexibility. It provides a generous, continuous service void to conceal heavy insulation and large pipework while delivering a flat, plumb surface ready to finish, regardless of the condition of the wall behind it.
It is used to line masonry, concrete, or blockwork walls with gypsum board on a freestanding metal sub-frame. Unlike braced systems, the vertical Knauf CW studs are not tied back to the background wall; the frame is secured only at the floor and soffit using Knauf UW channels. This structural decoupling makes it the ideal solution for highly irregular, deteriorating, or heritage backgrounds that cannot support mechanical fixings, while also offering superior acoustic and thermal separation.
Fire Resistance Range: Dependent on the background wall structure
Acoustic Performance Range: Up to +14dB improvement
Height Range: Up to 9.0m (Standard single frame)
System Thickness Range: 62.5mm and above (unrestricted depending on required cavity)
