Shaw Auditorium

The Shaw Auditorium, designed and realized by a joint venture between two award-winning architect offices, 'Henning Larsen Architects' and the local 'Wong Tung & Partners', is located at the entrance of the campus to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). With its three-story-high elliptical shape, Shaw Auditorium presents itself as an architectural highlight in contrast to the typical rectangular buildings surrounding it.

The station's unique design is characterised by the striking 4,000 glass panels that form the huge, undulating roof, and offers views of the Hong Kong Central skyline and Victoria Peak.
The desire to create a building of the highest quality also extended to the choice of building materials employed, and great care was therefore taken to ensure that durable and impact-resistant materials were used. As such, when designing the wet rooms (toilets) and detention rooms, the architects opted for the proven AQUAPANEL® Technology and the AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor.

Xiqu Centre

Located on the eastern edge of Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District, the Xiqu Centre is intended to serve as a cultural centre for the support of the theatre and the production, research and training of this art form. For this purpose, the total area of the centre covers 29,000 ㎡. In total, the Xiqu Centre consists of a large opera with 1,100 seats, a teahouse with 200 seats, a small theatre with 400 seats and many seminar rooms. The generous design and open planning of the centre combines art and education as well as a dynamic public realm.
