We are excited to announce that Knauf Insulation Malaysia was recently recognised at the Iskandar Malaysia Green Accord Initiative Award (GAIA) 2023/24 for showcasing significant contributions to supporting low carbon initiatives that reduce greenhouse gas emissions!
The team was awarded a Special Mention in the newly introduced GAIA Special Category, open to all types of initiatives in sustainable development, regardless of size and structure.
After being shortlisted for the award, Knauf Insulation was visited by the award judging panel – made up of reputable university professors and consultants – at the Johor facility to conduct a site verification and interview. This is where KI Malaysia outlined the incredible work being done to incorporate green elements and minimise the impact of our products, plant and offices in order to achieve zero carbon, a mission shared by the Knauf Group globally.
The Green Accord Initiative Awards are facilitated by Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) to encourage stakeholders in the region to continue supporting its Low Carbon initiative and work towards reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The Green Accord Initiative Award is an initiative introduced by the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) aimed at honouring the businesses and organisations across Iskandar Malaysia who have delivered exceptional contributions towards the adoption of sustainable design, planning, retrofitting, and operation in the built environment.
The awards have been introduced to promote awareness and encourage more organisations to think green and go beyond regulatory requirements to improve sustainability and low carbon initiatives.
