Corridor Ceilings

Elevate the acoustic and design performance with multi-material solutions

Corridor Ceilings That Shape the Experience

Corridors do more than connect spaces - they shape how people experience a building. From high-rise living to offices, hospitals, hotels and schools, the right corridor ceiling can enhance end-user comfort, safety, and aesthetics.

As corridors serve as primary evacuation routes, it is very important that ceiling system specifications meet the required fire safety requirements. For project-specific technical advice, contact our team.

Benefits at a Glance

Versatile corridor ceiling options - mineral, metal, wood wool, wood design, or gypsum - help design cohesive, welcoming environments that perform in high-footfall areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

High sound absorbing ceilings help reduce reverberation and airborne noise build-up in the corridor, helping limit transfer, whilst ceilings with high sound attenuation will help reduce sound passing between adjacent rooms. A balance of both is ideal to deliver both in room‑room comfort and improved speech privacy.

However, overall sound insulation also depends on walls, doors, floor/ceiling slabs, and junction details.

Use wall brackets to establish a straight ceiling datum; they provide up to 10 mm tolerance on each side to take up wall irregularities, which is especially useful where METAL F Clip or F‑H 600 ceiling tiles cannot be cut to follow the wall.

Alternatively, you can install a shadowline perimeter trim to visually mask minor waviness and cut certain ceiling panels like the F-L 601 system to maintain a consistent shadow gap.

Reaction-to-fire performance is classified in accordance with BS EN 13501-1 (Euroclass), and the following corridor solutions are independently assessed and rated as follows:

Euroclass A2-s1,d0

  • METAL F-L 601, F-Clip, F-H 600 & F-H 600 Swing perforated Rg 0701, Rg 0704, Rd 1522 and Rd 2516 with acoustic fleece
  • GYPSUM Corridor 400 Regular Plain, Globe, Micro, Quadril and Tangent
  • MINERAL THERMATEX® Acoustic & THERMATEX® Alpha HD

Euroclass A2-s1,d0 and B-s1,d0

  • HERADESIGN® Corridor

Note: Class A2-s1,d0, indicates limited combustibility with minimal contribution to spread of fire, and low smoke production when exposed to flames
