Smart Facade was created after years of research and development at Knauf Insulation's industry-leading testing facilities.

It has all the features and benefits you would expect from a Knauf Insulation product (easy to handle, non-combustible and low VOCs). It also boasts breakthrough engineering design features that include a unique wind-wash barrier, protecting against wind, moisture and air movement. The black woven fabric facing also provides camouflaging behind open-joint facade systems.

Durability and Moisture Resistance

When designing multi-level buildings, it's important to select fit-for-purpose materials that will withstand weather exposure during construction and 'future-proof' the structure's envelope.

Knauf Insulation's revolutionary moisture resistant DriTherm® Technology, combined with Smart Facade's innovative protective facing, makes it extremely durable for New Zealand's climate.

To further support these claims, third party testing was conducted and the results confirmed that Knauf Insulation's Smart Facade, when exposed to accelerated weathering, had no deterioration in performance. This supports the product's long term durability requirements.
