As part of New Zealand's journey towards net zero carbon, Clause H1 of the Building Code has tighter standards of compliance for the design and construction of new buildings. The targeted reduction of energy for residential buildings is approximately 40% and for non-residential buildings the targeted reduction of the energy use is 23%.
