Carefully Selected Ingredients

The range of Knauf Insulation glasswool products are manufactured using our unique batch recipe incorporating up to 80% recycled glass alongside naturally abundant resources such as sand. The glass used in our products is locally sourced including from our very own glass recycling facility in Australia. There are no harmful chemicals like formaldehyde or fire retardants either.

Innovative Technology

Our Asia-Pacific manufacturing facility uses advanced German technology, achieving operational efficiencies and lowering our carbon footprint. All the electricity used is sourced from renewable energy, allowing us to produce more insulation with less energy. Furthermore, our state-of-the-art melter can use a wider range of recycled glass, supporting waste reduction and resource flexibility.

Glasswool Insulation with a Difference

Knauf Insulation glasswool products are manufactured using ECOSE Technology, a sustainable binder made from rapidly renewable sources. Our ECOSE binder is up to 70% lower in upfront carbon emissions than traditional binders, reducing the embodied carbon of our insulation products as a whole.

Our TwinTech dual forming technology allows us to create double-thickness products, ready for evolving building regulations while also reducing costs.

Waste Reduction and Water Conservation

We feed back insulation off-cuts and edge trim into the process, minimising waste and enhancing resource efficiency. Our water conservation efforts is significant with our Asia-Pacific manufacturing facility capturing rainwater to use as wash water throughout.

Efficient Distribution

Knauf Insulation glasswool products are packed in 100% recycled plastic packaging further enhancing our commitment to recyclable products from beginning to end. Our advanced compression packed technology reduces the volume of our packaged insulation by up to 90%, enabling us to transport more product per truck. This contributes to reducing our own transport emissions, as well as for our supply chain and customers. We prioritise lower-carbon shipping, choosing sea freight over road transport for less carbon intensive deliveries.
