In tropical climates like Malaysia, roofs are among the most critical points of thermal gain - often responsible for over 40% of heat transfer in a building. Without proper insulation, internal temperatures rise quickly, driving up cooling needs, energy consumption, and reducing comfort.
Knauf Insulation has selected Earthwool® Metal Roofing Roll (Unfaced) to deliver a high-performance, sustainable, and installation-friendly roofing solution. The system was designed to withstand intense solar heat, high humidity, and heavy rainfall, ensuring long-term thermal efficiency, durability, and enhanced indoor comfort.
Expanding a warehouse within an operational manufacturing facility came with multiple layers of complexity. Construction activities had to be carried out with minimal disruption to daily operations, requiring careful coordination between the site, logistics, and installation teams.
At the same time, the project required a roofing insulation system that could deliver long-term efficiency, reflecting Knauf Insulation's sustainability values, and be practical for installation under the constraints of a live site.
Knauf Insulation Earthwool Metal Roofing roll also incorporates DriTherm® Technology, which prevents moisture absorption and helps the insulation maintain its shape and performance over time. This feature safeguards against sagging or deterioration, ensuring that both the thermal and acoustic benefits are preserved throughout the product’s lifespan and providing confidence in long-term performance under Malaysia's tropical condition.
The solution also brought clear installation advantages. Compression packaging allowed for easier handling and reduced storage requirements on site, while the TwinTech® smooth finish improved comfort and safety to installers during installation.
Sustainability was built into the solution from the start. Manufactured with up to 80% recycled glass and with ECOSE®, a no-added formaldehyde plant-based binder, the insulation contributes to healthier indoor air quality through low VOC emissions.
