Knauf Metal partitions are constructed by assembling one or more plasterboard facings from the Knauf range, screwed onto a galvanized steel metal frame. This frame consists of top and bottom rails and a network of vertical studs, which can be single or double depending on the desired height.
The studs can be common to both faces of the partition (KM) or independent for each face (KMA).
Each facing will consist of one or more plasterboards.
The space between the boards will be left empty or filled with a semi-rigid mineral fiber batt (glass wool or rock wool) placed between the studs.
The thickness, the number of facings, the characteristics of the frame, and the optional addition of a mineral fiber batt lead to a very wide range of performances in terms of thermal insulation, acoustic insulation, and fire resistance.
