Durable interior solutions offering thermal, fire safety, and acoustic performance to ensure safer, quieter, and longer-lasting buildings.
We spend 90% of our lives inside buildings, so it is important that the homes we live in, the schools where we educate our children, and the offices where we work are safe, comfortable spaces. And with the population increasing,* those buildings are under considerable strain. High footfall, regular cleaning, and simple everyday use can take their toll on the walls around us, so it’s important that the building materials you choose are durable.
Our internal solutions for walls deliver sound absorption to ensure comfort and focus where you need it. We also offer gypsum wall solutions specifically designed for durability in wet environments such as swimming pools. Meanwhile, our acoustic insulation for walls is non-combustible** and provides acoustic and thermal performance, to support compliance with Part E and Part L Building Regulations.
Our Technical Services team are here to guide you through every step of the process.

No, Loft Roll insulation is only designed for use in horizontal applications (primarily as ceiling insulation in cold ventilated roofs). Loft Roll is a lightweight product designed for optimum thermal performance and ease of application, as such it will not withstand the forces of gravity when installed vertically, nor does it offer any ‘friction fit’ properties.
Acoustic Roll is not tested for its thermal performance and therefore is not assigned a discrete thermal conductivity. It is produced to meet a minimum density of 10kg/m³ as detailed in Part E of the Building Regulations (Resistance to the Passage of Sound). If a specific thermal performance is also a requirement, then other Knauf Insulation products that meet the minimum density requirements can be used. Our range of OmniFit® products (OmniFit® Slab, OmniFit® Stud, and OmniFit® Roll) satisfies the minimum density requirements as well as tested thermal conductivities for use in some specific thermal applications.
Insulation products alone do not give a sound reduction value, only systems or construction elements give this value. Therefore, any sound reduction numbers quoted will be in reference to a built system e.g. a partition wall or separating floor; not a slab or roll of insulation.

** As set out in changes to the building regulations 2010 which bans the use of combustible materials, limiting use of materials to those achieving A1 or A2-s1,d0 on buildings in scope of the ban (as defined in regulation 7(4)).
