Solutions to promote productivity, wellbeing, and brand recognition in commercial office, leisure, and retail spaces.
Whether it’s an office complex, supermarket, or showroom, the acoustics and design of a commercial building are integral to the occupant experience. An aesthetic wall and ceiling solution can transform even the most uniform open-plan office or retail space into a vibrant, dynamic environment. Acoustic ceilings can balance sound to create a space that enhances wellbeing, productivity, and performance. Safety is also a top priority for any building with a high footfall. The Building Safety Act (2022) has increased scrutiny of high-risk buildings, which includes those that are at least seven storeys or 18m high,* so fire performance is a key consideration.
Combining flair and functionality, our acoustic ceiling tiles, insulation, and partition walls, enable a wide range of bespoke designs, while supporting acoustic balance, compliance with fire safety regulations, and durability.

Knauf Corridor 400 acoustic ceiling is a unique ceiling solution for narrow rooms and corridors. The gypsum-based ceiling, with its perforated surface, installed without any cross runners or suspension hangers, is a self-supporting system. Therefore, Corridor 400 acoustic ceiling is extremely quick to install: up to three times faster than a traditional T-grid ceiling, primarily due to the significantly reduced need for hangers, which often clash with services. The Corridor 400 ceiling panels are also easy to mount and de-mount, creating easy access for services.
Under challenging architectural and acoustical conditions retrofitting an existing ceiling with lightweight and designer acoustical absorbers such as Knauf Ceilings' mineral, metal or wood wool canopies and baffles, can trigger a 180° shift in the perceived quality of the space, provide higher comfort levels, and an increase in occupant productivity.
* Building Safety Act (2022) definition of a ‘higher-risk building’ is a building in England that (a) is at least 18 metres in height or has at least seven storeys, (b) and contains at least two residential units.
** As set out in changes to the building regulations 2010 which bans the use of combustible materials, limiting use of materials to those achieving A1 or A2-s1,d0 on buildings in scope of the ban (as defined in regulation 7(4)).
