Speak to our team about stocking the OmniFit® range today
OmniFit® Thermal and Sound Slab is the better alternative to low-density rock mineral wool insulation.
Made from glass mineral wool, the newest product in our OmniFit® range offers the same performance you're used to from low-density rock mineral wool, but with better storage and handling options, along with improved thermal performance.
Introducing OmniFit® Thermal AND Sound AND Quiet Mark certified AND non-combustible AND lower embodied carbon AND more product in a van AND easier to handle AND more cost-effective AND more per pallet AND lower in VOC's AND more sustainable Slab
Our range of Omnifit® glass mineral wool insulation products are non-combustible, have a Euroclass A1 reaction to fire classification and also carry the following benefits:
OmniFit® products are suitable for multiple applications—walls, roofs, floors and façades — Allowing installers to work with a single, reliable solution that adapts to different areas of a project, delivering consistent performance and ease of handling.
OmniFit® Thermal and Sound Slab has been tested for acoustic performance and has been awarded with the Quiet Mark.
OmniFit® Thermal and Sound Slab 100mm meets the requirements for Approved Document E and relevant robust details – it is greater than 10kg/m3. The range has been issued the Quiet Mark as a recognised accreditation of acoustic performance and has a Sound Absorption Coefficient of 1 (for 100mm) – the maximum possible rating.
Sound absorption coefficients are measurements used to determine the ability of a material or surface to absorb sound waves. These coefficients are expressed as a number between 0 and 1, with 0 indicating that the material does not absorb any sound and 1 indicating that it absorbs all sound. The higher the absorption coefficient, the better the material's ability to absorb sound.
Yes.
OmniFit® Thermal and Sound Slab has the best possible Euroclass A1 non-combustible reaction to fire rating – meaning it will not contribute to the spread of flame should a fire occur. Glass mineral wool has a lower melting temperature than rock mineral wool – however it is still in excess of 800ºC. A product in isolation can not be deemed fire safe as it depends on other elements in the system.
For construction applications that require it, Knauf Insulation’s glass mineral wool and rock mineral wool products are produced in line with maximum water absorption threshold limits:
Short-term water absorbance (WS) method < 1 kg/m2 [EN ISO 29767]
Long-term water absorbance (WLP) method < 3 kg/m2 [EN ISO 16535]
The same is true for glass mineral wool and rock mineral wool products from other manufacturers.
Yes, depending on the application you are putting the product into. Glass mineral wool can be used as an alternative to low-density rock mineral wool, it offers an enhanced thermal performance, identical reaction to fire rating and equivalent sound insulation performance.
It has 4 – therefore can be installed any way around.
OmniFit® Thermal and Sound Slab can be used in multiple applications:
